This is the psychology workpackage, where qualitative aspects of sounds are evaluated experimentally at the perceptual, cognitive, and emotional level.
These experiments serve the purposes of both
- assessing the quality of design solutions proposed in "Sound product design" component and
- highlighting those features, patterns, and configurations that arelikely to form the measurable quantities treated by "Measurement definition" component.
The novelty of the methods developed in this package will be the investigation of the relationship between identity patterns based on a functional analysis and the corresponding emotional dimensions (arousal, pleasure).
Measuring the preferences according to affective reactions will be the ultimate goal of this component.
This work is done by Perception and Sound Design team.
